Day Fifty-Two
Last night, after the party, I agreed to watch a movie with my two youngest boys, lying on my bed, which pretty much guaranteed my surrender to the night. I didn't sleep, but I couldn't get up. At one point, I realized it was already ten o'clock, so I sent the boys to bed even though there was a half hour of show left. I did some clean up and got ready for bed, and I know I wasn't asleep before eleven-thirty.
So my workout this morning was compromised, but in the workout/life balance scheme of things, that's okay sometimes. Plus, I was still somewhat weakened by my fasting. I did go to the gym, and did abs and weight-lifting, and a half hour on the elliptical, which burned over 250 calories. Some is better than none.
I ate my modest lunch, and then a coworker brought in a pizza. Nothing wrong with a slice of pizza, but, true confessions, I ended up having two. I also snacked on more than one handful of seeds today. I'm going to count all of that as my dinner, though. I'll just have a small peach, or maybe some Brussels sprouts. I've been full, but not overly full, since then.
I am doing my night-time abs alternately with going to bed activities. It seems like going to bed becomes more and more of a process the more I age. Speaking of aging, I have a doctor appointment tomorrow. THE doctor appointment. I was hoping to show her that I was slim, but that is not going to happen. I can at least tell her what I am doing and all about my efforts. I hope we have some time to talk.
Until bedtime tonight, I am alone in the house with the leftover cake. Also two blond brownies. I think if I can get through this unscathed, that will be enough of a win for today.
